Miles for Meals: Team Chefs Cut Raises £430 for FareShare Midlands
We’re incredibly proud to share that Team Chefs Cut has raised an amazing £430 for FareShare Midlands after taking on the Robin Hood Half Marathon!
Chefs Cut owner James, alongside butchery assistants Jasper and Josh, swapped the butchery boots for their running shoes and took on the challenge to raise money for a cause doing incredible work across our region.
And thanks to the generosity of our customers, friends, family, suppliers and supporters, that effort has now raised enough to help fund an incredible:
1,720 meals for people in need.
Not bad for a few miles around Nottingham!
Taking on the Robin Hood Half Marathon
Running a half marathon is no small challenge.

On Sunday 27th September, James, Jasper and Josh joined thousands of runners at the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham, taking on the 13.1-mile course to raise money and awareness for FareShare Midlands.
There was plenty of training, determination and probably a few aching legs involved along the way, but knowing that every mile could help put food onto somebody's plate made crossing that finish line even more worthwhile.
As a food business, we see every day the amount of work, resources and people that go into producing good-quality food.

That's one of the reasons FareShare Midlands' mission means so much to us.
Who Are FareShare Midlands?
FareShare Midlands works to tackle two problems that simply shouldn't exist alongside one another: good food going to waste while people are struggling to access the food they need.
The charity rescues good-quality surplus food from throughout the food industry that might otherwise go to waste. Its teams and volunteers then sort, store and redistribute that food to charities and community organisations across the Midlands.
Those organisations include community centres, homeless shelters, food support services and children's breakfast and school holiday clubs, helping get good food to the people and communities who need it.
The scale of their work is incredible.
FareShare Midlands supports around 650 charities and community groups across the region, with its redistributed food reaching more than 60,000 vulnerable people every week.
Last year alone, the food it redistributed helped those organisations provide around 11 million meals.
But its work goes even further. FareShare Midlands also provides volunteering opportunities, training and employability support, helping people develop skills and create opportunities for their future.
It's an organisation making a difference to both food waste and food insecurity – two causes particularly close to our hearts as a food business.
£430 Raised = 1,720 Meals
When we first started this fundraiser, every donation meant a huge amount to us.
And watching that total continue to climb has been incredible.

At the time of writing, Team Chefs Cut has raised £430.
FareShare Midlands tells its fundraisers that every £1 raised can help them distribute four meals, meaning your support could help provide:
1,720 meals.
That's 1,720 meals that could help people and families facing food insecurity across the Midlands.
Suddenly, those 13.1 miles feel even more worthwhile.
And every single person who donated played a part in making that happen.
A Huge Thank You
We want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported James, Jasper and Josh throughout the challenge.
Whether you donated £5, £10, £20 or more, shared our fundraiser, wished the lads good luck or cheered them on, you've helped us reach this total.
We're extremely grateful.
We'd also like to say a huge thank you to the FareShare Midlands team for all of their support throughout our fundraising journey and, more importantly, for the work they do every single day across our communities.
We're proud that Team Chefs Cut could play even a small part in supporting it.
There's Still Time to Donate!
Although the half marathon is over, our fundraiser isn't quite finished yet.
The fundraising page officially closes on Sunday 1st November, so there's still time to help us push that £430 total even higher.
Every additional £1 raised could help FareShare Midlands distribute another four meals – so even a small donation can make a genuine difference.
How many meals can we reach before the fundraiser closes?
Whatever the final number, we're incredibly proud of James, Jasper and Josh for taking on the challenge – and even more grateful to everyone who got behind them.
13.1 miles. £430 raised. 1,720 meals.
And hopefully, a few more still to come.
From everyone at Chefs Cut Butchery – thank you. ❤️
